Cuchulainn's Last Battle

In a war-torn planet, a giant colony ship tried to make a break for orbit in the midst of an ongoing battle when a huge enemy force intervened. Just when it seemed that all 1,000,000 souls on board were doomed, the ship lets loose her one and only guardian - an experimental mecha. It was a cornered prey's desperate move.

It seemed a one-sided fight, 1 against a hundred thousand enemies. Except it was in the favour of the colony ship and her lone defender. The powerful robot cut through its enemies like a hot knife through butter. 

The colony ship was totaled by the time the fight was over. So fierce was the battle that the Guardian pilot, though victorious, succumbed to her death post-battle. She remained in the cockpit of her Mecha which in turn, remained unyielding on the wreck high above the planet. 

Hundreds of years later, the population that thrived on board the ship made for themselves a floating continent from the giant wreck and revered the Mecha and its pilot as their Legendary Guardian Lady.

She is still standing guard over them to this day.
