I am a big fan of the Delorean DMC-12, even without Doc Brown's time-machine modifications to it. In my humble opinion, the DMC-12 is a very handsome car with very innovative proportions. I like the the twin rectangular headlamps, which makes me think of the eyes of a gentle and friendly pooch, contrasted with a side profile that resembles a wolf on the hunt.

Like many other artists who've already done so, I took a whack at designing a more current DMC-12, and here's my modest result. The heavy challenge is to retain most of the original DMC-12's features and 'handsomeness' as much as possible while trying to push for fresh looks. I looked into the design language of Lamborghini - my other favourite car maker - and the more current Audis, for first-choice references, because I find that these three share certain, if not many, similarities.

I admit that this turned out not as bold as many other concept designs that are already out there today. I'm no expert in the field of automotive design, but, great scott! Can I not dream? =P

This is an on-and-off, two-months long labor - the actual hands-on work taking 2 weeks with the bulk of that time spent doing research and sketches. All in between my day job, totally drawn and colored in Photoshop CS5.
